What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

Yesterday was my Guild’s garage sale. There were more books and patterns than anything else. I bought a free motion quilting book not pictured.

The fat quarter came from the thrift store. It was too cute to pass up. The stencil kit came from the garage sale. I may try the stencils, but what I really wanted was the Paintstiks. The stencil kit included a small piece of fabric which I didn’t notice until I got to the car.

I didn’t add any fabric this week, although I had many buying opportunities. I finished the shirt for almost a yard out. All the shirt details will be in a separate post.

We went to the Greater Ann Arbor Quilt Guild Quilt Show yesterday. Hundreds of great quilts, plus a gift shop and vendors. If you live in the area, the shows continues today from 11am – 5pm at Washtenaw Community College.

While we were out and about after the show, I found a screen printing screen at a thrift shop. That was a first. I’ve wanted to learn ...

Yesterday was the Guild meeting, which meant a jaunt through the thrift stores. The only thing I bought quilting related was this book.

Yes, that $0.50 tag is what I paid for it. Gotta love a good thrift store.

I’m still working on the same projects with the typical slow progress. I’m hoping to finish the shirt soon.

I need to learn to take selfies.
I tried taking a picture of me wearing the shirt, but it’s that funky kind of overcast here and it didn’t work out well.
It washed up nice and turned out the way I envisioned it. Now it just needs to get warm enough to wear it. I may add a stitch at the top to cut back on the cleavage. Either that or wear a tank under it.

I bought this blouse at the thrift late last year.
It’s a petite medium and I am a not petite small.
It’s a little big in the shoulders, but I can live with it. Because the sleeves have elastic, I can position them above my elbows . They look fine and are comfortable.
There was also elastic at the bottom. When I positioned it at my waist, the shirt was very full and too short. This was not a good look on me. I picked out a small section of the casing seam, cut the elastic and removed it ...
